OUR STORY

50 years ago a small oil company from Texas had a dream to develop this beautiful area. Although many plans existed, the result was Kokanee Springs Golf Course and their accommodator Kokanee Chalets.  Through the years Kokanee Chalets has become a favorite family campground and hotel. Nestled in its signature grove of timeless cedar trees near Kootenay Lake, the resort provides decompression from the city rat race.

Now in my 21st season, I still get pleasure seeing people who checked in filled with tension become relaxed and happy. On a summer night, campfires dot the place with the sound of laughter, maybe a guitar floating in the air.  Nobody ever really owns a place like this. They just get to look after it for a while. The work is hard and the hours long, but I still get up every day and think what I can do to make this place better. Many thanks to our guests and I look forward to a chance to stop and chat with you. - Paul Hindson

THE RESORT

The 20 acres of Kokanee Chalets Resort is divided between the Chalets area and the campground area.   While not located directly on the beachfront, the resort is a ten-minute walk down a forested / wetland path to the beach.  We have 16 cabins, 9 guest rooms, 53 RV sites and 17 tenting sites. The middle of the campground houses a playground for children as well as the bathroom and shower facility.
